Associate Professor Pek Wee Yang is the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Policy & Programmes) at the Communicable Diseases Agency (CDA). He oversees the technical divisions within the agency. These include the Policy & System Division, Communicable Diseases Programmes Division, Communicable Disease Collaborations, Research, Clinical Advisor Office, and the National Public Health Laboratory. As a senior leader within the agency, he helps shape CDA’s strategic direction to align with its vision and mission.
Associate Professor Pek Wee Yang is a practising clinician and a senior consultant in one of the healthcare clusters in Singapore. He is an accredited specialist in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine as well as Advance Internal Medicine. Prior to joining the agency, he served as the Chairman of the Medical Board at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in the National Healthcare Group. A/Prof Pek also holds several teaching appointments. He is an Adjunct Associate Professor with Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS) as well as Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (NTU). Professionally he is a fellow with the Singapore Academy of Medicine, the Royal College of Physician (Edinburg, UK) and the American College of Chest Physician.
