Visa Information

All international visitors to Australia must hold a valid passport and an appropriate visa or travel authority. The type of visa required depends on your nationality, purpose of visit and length of stay.

Delegates attending GHS2028 are advised to check the latest visa requirements using the Department of Home Affairs Visa Finder and to apply well in advance of travel. We recommend applying at least one month in advance to allow sufficient time for processing.

Australia currently does not require proof of COVID-19 vaccination or quarantine for travellers entering the country. However, travellers are encouraged to check the Department of Home Affairs for the most up-to-date entry requirements and health advice before departure.

Visa Invitation Letters

In due course, upon request, visa letters will be sent to paid delegates seeking visa application support. If you’ve been accepted as an oral speaker or poster presenter, your acceptance email serves as sufficient documentation for visa application purposes. Conference registrants are eligible to request letters once their conference registration is finalised. Only registered conference attendees can be issued a letter. You will need to provide us your DOB and passport issuing country details to info@ghsconf.com. We cannot provide visa letters to family members.

Any visa questions please contact info@ghsconf.com

Arrival Declaration

All travellers arriving in Australia must complete an arrival declaration with their passport and travel details, customs declarations and biosecurity information.

Australia is replacing the paper Incoming Passenger Card with the digital Australia Travel Declaration (ATD), which is being rolled out across all international airports and seaports.

Steps required:

Step 1: If your flight is eligible, complete the Australia Travel Declaration online up to three days before you arrive. Otherwise, complete the paper Incoming Passenger Card handed out on your flight.

Step 2: Declare any food, plant material, animal products or other biosecurity items you are carrying. Australia has strict biosecurity laws, and undeclared items can result in fines.

Step 3: On arrival in Australia, proceed through Immigration, then Biosecurity and Customs.

Please note: The Australia Travel Declaration replaces the arrival card only. You will still need a valid visa or ETA before you travel.
