Indo-Pacific Health Alliance for Security 7-8 June 2026

Founded in 2022, the Indo-Pacific health alliance for security (IPhas) is the only comprehensive military–civilian framework in the Indo-Pacific co-chaired by INDOPACOM and the ADF. This alliance enables sustained coordination between defense forces and civilian health authorities.

From 7 – 8 June 2026, the Indo-Pacific health alliance for security will hold its 3rd summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Co-hosted by the Director General of the Malaysian Armed Forces Health Services (MAFHS), the Command Surgeon of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (USINDOPAOM), and the Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force (ADF), the IPhas Summit will bring together over 21 Indo-Pacific nations and partner organizations for critical discussions around global health security and shared regional challenges and opportunities. While participation in the Summit is limited to invited guests, key insights and outcomes from the event will be shared on the IPhas website. We do welcome anyone interested in engaging with us and/or attending a future event to reach out to us by contacting IPhas@us.navy.mil

Tor Signing

A significant outcome of the 2025 Summit in Papua New Guinea was the signing of new Terms of Reference (TOR) by the Surgeon General of the Australian Defence Force, the Papua New Guinea Defence Force Surgeon General and the United States Indo-Pacific Command’s Office of the Command Surgeon (J07). The updated TOR outlines objectives aimed at strengthening military-civilian collaboration and advancing global health security capabilities across the Indo-Pacific region.
